"In the 1700s painters of the Dutch School would celebrate the completion of challenging commissions by throwing a “studio overblijfsel” – a studio remnant. The masters placed the sketches and studies from the last few months labor onto the walls of their studio and invited friends and colleagues over to view the work that went into the final painting. Please join me in a revival of this great tradition as I celebrate the end of my installation Total Noise and the completion of my MFA from City University of New York."

Invitation to the first Studio Remnants party.

Studio Remnants are the curated remains of the studio's detritus after the completion of a project. A Studio Remnants party is thrown.  The 'stuff' of the studio is placed on the walls; the floor moves to the wall and what was once stepped over becomes the focus of our attention. After the party, the remnants themselves are deconstructed further and sent out in the mail to select individuals. These pieces of mail-able art comprise that volume's Studio Remnants. Studio Remnants Volume 1 took places in June, 2018 after the completion of my MFA thesis show Total Noise at The Sheridan in the Bronx.
